Q: Previously Broken Pelvis And Tailbone, Baby Due Next Month

I was in a bad car wreck 6 years ago and broke my pelvis in 4 places and also broke my tailbone. Now my baby is due in 5 weeks and my ob won't confirm a c section. I have spoken my concerns and strongly feel the need for a c section even though this is my first child. I am a single mother and can't take a risk of breaking those bones again. I can't afford to be out of work that long again either. Why won't my ob confirm a c section even though I have told him that this is what I want and should I have one?

Extremely eHealthy
The thing about a broken bone is, it is suppose to heal stronger than before it was broken. I have heard of old pple breaking an arm repeatedly and never in the same place twice. You would think it was weaker, but I dont think that is the case. You can either go with his decision or maybe get a second opinion. I think you would be just fine though. Just my opinion--i am not a doctor

good luck hon

Pelvic break and c-section during pregnancy
I was also in a car accident and I broke my pelvis in 5 places i have pins and screws in a couple of places, next month i will be delivering my second child via c-section, the doctor that did my surgery for my pelvis said that I should NOT have a vag. delivery for fear of the pelvis not spreading and something happening to the pins, he said he would write to my OB at that time but my ob doctor agreed with me and gave no hesitation to perform a c-section.
