Q: Period For Months At a Time? Am I Even Able to Get Pregnant?
asked by: vanessalouanne on September 9th, 2005
Extremely eHealthy
I was son depo for 2 shots. It was suppose to be out of my system in november (04) . For a while I was fine, but then at the beginning of the summer I started to get my period for 15-20 days at a time. Maybe a couple of days off, then i'd start again. I went to the doctor and she didnt seem concerned because she said my cycle was normal (28days about) and if I wanted to fix it to go on birth control (which I really really do not want to start)
both sides of my husband and is family are very fertile. All the women in my family do not take more then 2 months of trying to get pregnant. My husbands family all have really high sperm count. (his brothers has gotten two girls pregnant both on birth control)
i also have been diganosted with a hypo active thyroid, which ive been on medication on since december (04)
do you all think that I am unable to get pregnant? My husband and I have a very healthy sex life, and we are both young. Has anyone been through the same thing?? Any imput would be really appreciated
thanks in advanced!

We dont have that in my family. Him too. Where does this come from? No woman have to have this problem. I dont know. When I go to the shopping area and I see someone pregnant, the I feel bad.

I will pray for you!!
I totally know what you mean about when you see pregnant women. My sister is 36 weeks right now, and three of my best friends are 16weeks, 37 weeks, and 25weeks. It's tough being around sometimes.
Good luck on trying to conceive. I do believe that babies are gifts from .Gods and that when it is meant to happen it will happen.
Good luck to you.

I also have hypothyroidism, which I have been taking medication to control for the last 2 1/2 years. I don't see that being a problem when trying to conceive. I lost my last baby in june and would love to conceive again soon. How old are you both?

Thanx cele!
I hope you will be able to conceive a baby of your dreams soon. It is sad... Try not to stress yourself though. It makes it more difficult then.
Good luck to both of you!

have any of your guys been tested for polycystic ovarian disease (or syndrom)??? cause sometimes when people bleed more than normal or have irregular periods it could have something to do with your hormones and although peopel associate pcos with pain often people don't have all the symptoms! pcos can also make it hard for you to get pregnant....not everyone who gets there period ovulates so maybe ask your doctor to check you LH, FSH, GTT and other hormones that may show pcos!!! i've gone threw it it's not fun but atleast knowing whats wrong helps you realize its not your fault!!!!
