I have just started taking the pill -
microgynon 30 and have a dumb question
please. Before going on the pill, I had
irregular periods and would not ahve a
period every month. On the pill, it says
that you will have a period while taking
the fake sugar pills in the red section.
I am up to th red section but wondering if
I will get my period because of the pills
or if it will it be like before when I was
irregular.
My main reason for going on them was so I
would not have my period while I was on
holidays. I am worried that if I don't
take the continous green tablets and take
red, then I may not get my period straight
away and then I will get it while I am
away.

Hello I just wanted to ask when are you
going on holidays if for example your
going in 3 days and the red (fake sugar
pills ) start tomorow skip the sugar pills
and go straight on to the whites then you
whant have your periods till the next red
pill comes, but you can only do this once
in a while. So if you dnt want your
periods to come when you go on holidasy
just skip the red and start the whites
straight away thats what I do. Once twice
is ok but its dangers so try not to take
advantage of this....

I am going on holidays in 14 days so was
hoping that if I knew I would get my
period right away when I take the sugar
tablets then this would be better than
skipping it all together which was what
you were saying.
So, you should get your period straight
away taking the sugar tablets even if I t
is the first cycle of taking the pill
then.

You usually get your period within a
couple days into the "sugar" reminder
pills. I know I would start the sugar
pills on a monday, but sometimes not get
my period until tuesday or wednesday.
That was just how my cycle was.
If you do not want to have a period for a
certain special occasion it is indeed ok
not to. Instead of taking the sugar
reminder pills you just start your next
new pack of pills right away. This should
prevent you from having a period.
As a matter of fact, there is now a pill
where you only have a period like every
four months, or so? I saw it advertised
on tv, but can't remember the name at the
moment. According to the new studies it
is ok, and even healthy, for women only to
have a couple of periods a year.
