Q: Question On Marriage/legal Age

Ok I have a question. Dewitt has been talking about marriage quite a bit lately. I'm not sure if thats what I want, but if I ever did say yes, I just need this question answered.

Alright, if you have parental consent, can a 16 y/o marry a 19 y/o. Becuz i'm not sure where I heard, but I heard somewhere that the statatory rape law doesn't apply once the youngest person turns 16. I'm not sure if its true, but it sounds reasonable enough to be true.

I live in florida, so if anyone could help me out, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Lol thanks....I dont know what im gonna do....But it will definately be at least another year and a half b4 I seriously start to consider it. For that exact reason. That, and I seem to have a major problem with commitment. And as if a baby didnt turn my world upside down, that sure as hell would top it off! Lol. Id prolly go nuts. So I think I just need a lot of time to think about it. Right now i'm quite happy where im at. He calls all the time to see how im doing and such. And we r getting along great. I really hope he can come down for christmas! I really miss him and wanna see him again! Hes seriously starting to think about moving down here when he turns 18! Yay! Lol. Well thanks a blue mil girl. I really appreciate the in-put.

I would wait. Just because your having a baby doesnt mean you two will love each other forever. Marriage is a big thing and you need to be fully ready for it. Give it a few years

Yeah I said I wasn;t terribly serious about it....Just fun to think about. And I wouldn't just because he is josh's father. Believe me, i'm a brat. I never settle for anything less than exactly what I want. And I intend to make sure he's what I want. But yeah I found out, in certain states, florida and kentucky r the only 2 I remember, u can get married without parental consent if ur pregnant or have a child. But the court has to consent. But I aint like that. I want my family to be there when I get married. But yeah I g2g. Ttyl. Bye
