Q: Recent Loss of Sexual Desire.....help!!!

Hi,
i'm 19 years old, and i've been with my girlfriend for almost a year now. I'm completely in love with her, and we have always had a great sex life. This summer alone it seemed like we had sex every chance we got, and it was always satisfying.

I recently moved back up to college for the new semester, and she's back home. She came to visit last weekend, and the first night, we had amazing sex. However, the next day, I couldn't keep it up, and the final night, I couldn't get it up at all. This destroyed me.

We're trying to work through it, but it's hard since it's a long distance relationship. However, now it seems that nothing turns me on. I don't get erections as frequently as I used to and I can't masturbate most of the time. I don't know if this is temporary due to stress, or what, but it really is affecting me. I want things to return to normal, but I don't know what is going on. I have smoked marijuana off and on for a little less than a year now, and a lot of it during the past summer. But because of this whole situation, I am quitting for good.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be? Is it stress? Is it the marijuana in my system? (although it has never affected me before, actually enhanced the experience) should I just give it time?

Thanks for all the help.

dude, first give it some time. Chill out for a few nights and then try masturbating. If you can get it up and keep it up, you are okay; it's just stress. If you can't achieve or maintain an erection, it could still be stress, or it could be something physical. Always rule out the emotional first.

Has anything changed in your life, other than going back to school, recently? Financial problems? Too many classes? Change your major? Fight with parents? Any physical problems? Are you on any medications? Any recent trauma to your genitals?

Try relaxing and focusing on other things. See if you can get hard by yourself, while masturbating to porn or something. If you can get it up, you're fine -- just stressed. Rent a porno or look at your favourite porn sites. You should be able to get it up with no problem. If that doesn't work, it could be side effects of medications, too much stress, or possibly a physical problem. Message me if you have any questions.
