Hi I have had epilepsy since I was 3. I am now 28. I am currently asking if anyone has had or has been interested in vns therapy. I have been on every medication there is for epilepsy and none have been successful.I am currently taking keppra 2500 mg in the a.M. And 2500 mg in the p.M. I get sleepy sometimes along with reoccuring loose bowels and sufer from depression but can't seem to find a antidepressant that doesn't cause any sexual side affects for me. I also suffer from reoccuring vaginal yeasts infections due to the keppra. The keppra seems to be more helpful in reducing my episodes and it has been able to produce an aura right before I have an episode which is helpful but yet I still continue to have seizures. Vns therapy is my last resort. I dont know what to do. I am so sad all the time. I am however scheduled to have the vns therapy implanted in my neck very soon. Ive heard lots of good and bad side effects from vns therapy. Please if anyone out there has any helpful info I would greatly appreciate it.
