Hello to all,
has anyone been placed on the lidocaine patch?(commonly used for shingles) I find it helps with the pain but does not help with the aches.
Still hits you like a narcotic. Just curious.

Pain
I have been on vicodin for several years , and a daughter of mine told me that it could cause hearing loss!!!!!!! I do have tinitis , and it seems to be getting louder ... I just don't know what to ask for , how would a patch help with the pain not just from back, but my wrist , elbows, shoulders, and knees and hips, do you put them all over your body ? Or just one does the trick for the whole body?

I, personally, have *not* tried tha patch. However, I have a friend who is on it and swears by it. I'd talk to my healthcare professional. Then I would go the website of the pharmaceutical comapny that makes it. They can sometimes give a good insight into what they foresee it being used for...

Pain control is very important. I take many different meds to try and control pain. I hate that groggy feeling and the great desire to sleep all day. I saw an article that vicodin can cause hearing loss too. I use it but try not to. I do take on a daily basis: vioxx 2x a day, elavil, plaquinel, protonix, zantac, wellbutin, lisinop, aspirin, albuterol, provental, restasis eye drops, (valium, vicodin, relpax as needed). My husband tells me i'm high maintenance, and I don't get my nails done or my hair colored any more lol, lol. You should talk to your dr to see what other options you have. I've never used a patch before. Is the patch able to give an even disbursement of med? Is anyone else on so many meds? Daisy Wink

Pain Meds
Hi all, I was told by the pharmacist that while taking mobic I could not take asprin \advil\motrin etc....No anti-inflamatory meds at all. I'm not sure why not, but I normally take motrin for my headaches. The mobic is working ok,but I still worry about what i'll take if I get a headache.

Ask your doctor. Mine gave me something for headaches for that very reason!

Good luck and hugs,
