Amung the many wierd symptoms that I have I have discovered one that I cant quite figure out. It is this wierd smell. I smell it when I eat certain things or if I get anxious. Its a wierd sort of burning smell. Its kind of scaring me and I am afraid I might have a panic attack if it doesnt stop. It comes the worst when I breath in really deep. What could it be? I hate feeling like this and I hate panic disorder. :(

Kansas I don't want to make things worse, but I have read that a sense of a burning smell can be a sign of something in the brain, I would go the dr's tell them and ask for a ct scan, though the report I read didn't take into account people that had panic disorders. I telling you this will probably give you another attack and for that I apologise, but I would strongly suggest you go to the dr just to sure.

Thank you for responding. I actually did go get a cat scan and it came out to be normal. With my anxiety and everything I just keep assuming the worst. Luckly I dont have any other symptoms that have to do with the brain besides the ones I create. I have discovered that the smell mainly comes when I eat certain foods. When I eat salads or beef jerkey. I know thats wierd. It does come really light every once in a while when not eating but mostly if I am thinking about it. Maybe its all in my head too. I dont know. I have a doc appointment on thursday so maybe she can put my mind at ease. I also have been taking cardizem which is a calcium blocker and I looked up side effects of it and it said that it can alter your sense of smell. I am hoping thats all it is. Wouldnt it be nice if there was a little switch we could hit and the anxiety and fear would just stop?
