I've been on lexapro and have not until today realized it says on the bottle you shouldn't drink alcohol while on this medication. I've been drinking very heavily this weekend, but haven't felt anything unusual. Am I in any danger? :?:

I wouldnt drink while being on anti depressants. You can go into a state of depression. Its happened to people I know. If you do drink just keep it at like a couple beer or something. Just be careful

Well if you were in any danger while you were drinking, you would have noticed it at that time. If you feel ok today, then I wouldnt worry about it. But whoever perscribed you the meds should have informed you not to drink within 8hrs of taking the meds. What it could do, is extremely intensive the affect of the alcohol or have an opposite affect of the meds or both. I take depression meds as well, and I just make sure to take all of my meds in the morning. I do have pills that I have to take at night before I go to sleep, but if I have been drinking, I skip that pill that night. But whatever you do, do not double up the next day just because you missed it the night before. I recommend talking to your doctor about side effects.
