I am 20 years old and I have always had regular periods until this year. I didn't have a period in 10 months and I have had many pregnancy tests done and im not pregnant.I always have bad pains in my stomach so bad sometimes I cry and my doctor said its nothing to worry about and he wont do anything about it, but I worry about it every day. I dont think its normal for all of a sudden not to have a period for that long. I just dont know what to do.

hiya,
i dont know if this is going to be helpful for you, but my periods were always irregular and at times I didnt have one for about 1 year. I never thought anything about it, as I was young and just let it be. I am now married, and am trying for a baby. After two yrs of trying I found out I have polycystic ovaries and this is why my periods were irregular. I too used to get really bad stomach pains. But I never mentioned it to anyone, and no I think if just I had found out earlier. You should speak to a different doctor and tell him about your concerns. Good doctors are very hard to find nowadays.

provera worked for me the third time of taking it
hi, i hope this might give you some hope. i didnt have a period from september 08 up until last month (10 months) i stopped taking the pill (loestrin) and had been on various pills for 10 years, including dianette. im living in asia now and was worried about the medical care, in february i had a scan to check my ovaries and they seemed fine, the doctor pescribed me provera (projesterone hormones) 10mg tablets, one a day for 5 days, nothing really happens, a tiny spot of blood after the first tablet and that was it! two months later i bought some more provera, 5 day course tried it and the same thing happens. then last month i went back to the same doctor and had blood tests to check my hormone levels, she said my hormone levels were normal and percribed me provara again! and also 5 days worth of clomid tablets, i wasnt thinking they would work but third time lucky and i had a normal period and this month i have now had another period (3 weeks inbetween the last period and start of the first one) im not sure why the tablets worked this time, the doctor thinks that maybe my hormone levels became balanced over the months. she also mentioned something about there not being a main follicle that is doing the job of working (communication was hard as i cant speak the language!) my skin is like that of a 14 year old which is depressing and embarrassing but dont give up hope. check your hormone levels, get scans and do lots of research. good luck, i hope you get your period soon Smile

10 months without a period
Hi I am going through this exact same thing. 10 months without a period after going off the pill 10 months ago. Had tests run, hormone, thyroid and pelvic ultrasound everything was okay xcept my testosterone level was 4 points higher than normal. My doctors don't seem overly concerned so...I am just at a loss. I just want to start my period and be regular!! My skin and body have reverted back to when I was 16 which is aweful and I have visited my dermotologist for that so hope that helps.
If anyone can shed some light I would appreciate it!
Thanks!

Hi! I am also going through this same thing. I haven't had a period in 1 year. I went into the doctor to find out what is going on, they took blood and schedule me for a pelvic ultrasound which I will have in about 2 weeks. I am slightly freaked out about this but it is comforting to see that others are experiencing the same issues. I have no pain or anything abnormal other than the fact that my period has completely gone missing in action for the past year. Anyone have any info it would be appreciated.
Thx!

I haven't had a period for a while, The last one I remember was in August. I've had probably 4 or 5 periods, none of them came on time. They were always irregular. I haven't seen anything but slightly pink or orange discharge every so often when I use the bathroom, or a little blood stains on my underwear, but not the usual flow. I usually bleed alot. I'm worried. Help?

Hi everyone:) I haven't had a period in almost a year now. I stopped taking levora in january this yr had a normal period in febuary and nothing but occassional light spotting and head aches (especially recently) since then. Every doctor I've been to says everything is normal and all pregnancy tests I've taken come back negative. I do want to have kids and am worried that with no period ill never be able to. Any ideas as to what could be wrong with me? I'm also moody and gaining weight and generally tired. I'm convinced I'm broken Sad

Hi all...I've been missing my menses for 10 months or so now too. Initially I thought it was funny that I was turning into a man because I started growing facial hair. However I did consult a GP and was informed that I might be suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) that explains my hormonal imbalance and absence of menses. GP also mentioned that I may have to take birth control pills to regulate my menses and control the facial hair growth. I'm not really sure if its the only solution though. I'm getting a referral letter soon to see an OB/GYN because lately I've been developing pains and to see a specialist is the best way. I hope everyone here will get well soon and do get consultation from your OB/GYN. I thought missing my menses was something normal and that it will come back but it proved me wrong because it already messes up my body like growing facial hairs and putting on a lot of weight. We women are more prone to illnesses so its best that we get ourselves checked up.

Hello I'm 27 and I have not had my period in I guess it is a year it's been awhile I did not think anything of it -because my periods were irregular but not this irregular first time I went this long without a period -I had my hormones checked and this is the second time they told me that my vitamin d was low real low and my testosterone was high and estrogen low -they also put me on provera in which they said I would get my period and it would be heavy -i just wiped 2 times and I had little pink I am beginning to think the docs are just experimenting and dont know what the real issue is or can be -i feel right now if I have a high testosterone I can fix my own issues by just taking estrogen pills -I don't know if this will work but if it does I solved all our problems
