I am 20 years old and I have always had regular periods until this year. I didn't have a period in 10 months and I have had many pregnancy tests done and im not pregnant.I always have bad pains in my stomach so bad sometimes I cry and my doctor said its nothing to worry about and he wont do anything about it, but I worry about it every day. I dont think its normal for all of a sudden not to have a period for that long. I just dont know what to do.

hiya,
i dont know if this is going to be helpful for you, but my periods were always irregular and at times I didnt have one for about 1 year. I never thought anything about it, as I was young and just let it be. I am now married, and am trying for a baby. After two yrs of trying I found out I have polycystic ovaries and this is why my periods were irregular. I too used to get really bad stomach pains. But I never mentioned it to anyone, and no I think if just I had found out earlier. You should speak to a different doctor and tell him about your concerns. Good doctors are very hard to find nowadays.

provera worked for me the third time of taking it
hi, i hope this might give you some hope. i didnt have a period from september 08 up until last month (10 months) i stopped taking the pill (loestrin) and had been on various pills for 10 years, including dianette. im living in asia now and was worried about the medical care, in february i had a scan to check my ovaries and they seemed fine, the doctor pescribed me provera (projesterone hormones) 10mg tablets, one a day for 5 days, nothing really happens, a tiny spot of blood after the first tablet and that was it! two months later i bought some more provera, 5 day course tried it and the same thing happens. then last month i went back to the same doctor and had blood tests to check my hormone levels, she said my hormone levels were normal and percribed me provara again! and also 5 days worth of clomid tablets, i wasnt thinking they would work but third time lucky and i had a normal period and this month i have now had another period (3 weeks inbetween the last period and start of the first one) im not sure why the tablets worked this time, the doctor thinks that maybe my hormone levels became balanced over the months. she also mentioned something about there not being a main follicle that is doing the job of working (communication was hard as i cant speak the language!) my skin is like that of a 14 year old which is depressing and embarrassing but dont give up hope. check your hormone levels, get scans and do lots of research. good luck, i hope you get your period soon Smile
