spinal cerebellar ataxia
i am 57 years and it took a year to be diagnosed i started falling in 2000 i didnt think too much about it i would just fall then get back up i couldnt lift my left leg to get up a small step so i would go down in 2008 i fell hard at work a week later i woke up and my whole left side was numb i had to drag my left leg to move . it got so bad the pain was a burning feeling like my muscles were being ripped apart. i saw a neurologist and he gave me alot of test nothing i saw a ms specialist he told me i had conversion disorder so i went to see a psychiatrist. finally i saw a motion specialist who does alot of work with parkinsons she diagnosed me with sca i havent had genetic testing yet but my symptoms are slowly progressing i want to do things but cant my gait is still stiff my arms hurt to move them i drop stuff alot and typing is getting harder i misspell alot and have to go back to fix it im trying to be positive some days im so afraid i cant stand up i feel so dizzy and my eyes dont focus i would like to talk to others thank you
