My husband is a 37 year old man with a pacemaker. He was diagnosed with wolfe parkinsons white disease about 6 years ago. When he had surgery to repair this condition the surgeon burnt a hole through his heart, so they had to implant the pacemaker. He has since had 3 back surgeries for heniated disks, it has been suggested that he get a tens unit implanted for the cronic pain he suffers from. My question/concern is that will another battery operated device in his body cause problems with his pacemaker??

I also have another question: the last time we attended the pacemaker clinic, the technician advised us that he had 254 incidents where his heart beated 5 or more beats per second. They told us the pacemaker was fine. What are the chances of this wpw coming back on the good side of his heart?

Is wpw a degenerative disease or can you expect to lead a normal life?

Every doctor we see seems to give us the run around, or not the whole story.
I would just like to know a little more about what we're really dealing with.

I Have Wpw Also
I have lived with wpw. I also run into the same problems about doctors not knowing about the disease and such. I have known about it for about 10 years now and we don't have too many problems with it. I have problems with excersizing and the cardio aspect of it. But other than that have lead a pretty normal life. I don't think that doctors are very informed about it now and even my family doctor that I have had for about 5 years would like me to go to a specialist. If you have any information about it please reply back about this I would be interested in learning more of what other people are told about it. I also don't really have any info about it and would love to share what I know but it is just personal experience really.

Thanks kim l
