I have a question. About five months ago I quit going to get my birth control shot and I was just wondering how long it takes to become pregnant after not being on the depo shot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The one thing I would say to you is be prepared to be very patient!!
I've been trying for almost 16 months now although I have been assured it 'normal' to take up to 2 years after coming off the injection. Every woman is different so what may take me 2 years, you could get preg in a matter of months. I have also found out that apparently the length of time you have been on it has no affect on the time it can take you to conceive.
I would also look into ovulation testing which could give you a good idea if you are actually ovulating.
Good luck hope its been of some help!!

good luck to you!

The Depo shot goes into effect immediately. If you meant to ask how long it takes for your period to stop, this varies from woman to woman. Usually the period will stop before the third shot (nine months.)

The Depo shot!
Ive only been off the Shot not even a full two months and I want to get pregnant but I was told until I started having regular periods i wouldnt be able to get pregnant, i was also told that the shot can lay in your system for at least 5 years, ive been on the Depo Shot for nine months and I wish I'd never done it. Is there any thing that I can do, any vitamnes that i can take to flush the shot out of my system faster.

Glossy_ Smile, you need to post this new topic in another area. There is a health forum called Stomach, Ulcers and Gastric Bypass.
