Can a human female get pregnant from a dog? I know its a weird question but we were asked this in genetics and we were told we could try to find the answer anywhere we could. If a women cant get pregnant can a dogs sperm still atleast fertilize a human females egg?

No it is genetically impossible for a woman to get pregnant by a dog.
The chromosomes of each species is too different, and nothing would occur. Only in animals that are genetically similar can there be offspring produced, and in most cases the offspring is infertile (ie. Donkey horse=mule, ligers. Etc.)

I think it could fertilze it, but noting would happen to the egg! Just my guess though..Who knows!

Some kids in my genetics class say that it is possible to get pregnant by a dog well they say the egg can be fertilized by a dogs sperm. Could a women carry a fertilized egg for lets say 2-3 months before it aborts itself? I am hearing all kinds of things in my class.

I forgot to mention that other kids say that a dogs sperm can atleast fertilize a humans egg and get stuck in the fallopian tube and therefore make a woman pregnant and that they can actually produce the hcg hormone...Which by the way I thought only a human could produce. And dont you have to have a placenta for this hormone to be produced? So can an egg carrying a dogs sperm get caught in the womans tubes? And remain there for awhile?

No I don't think a tubal pregnancy would occur, if it can be fertilized, I think it would automatically be destroyed, because the sequence of the dna or something like that wouldn't fit. There for meosis or miosis which ever one it is (the one that shares the chromosomes from the 2 parents) wouldnt be able to join and split the dna there for no embryo would be able to grow and the egg would just be washed away during the womens next period!

Did the teacher give you this question????

Let me know when you get the answer!!

Ok what hormone does a female dog produce when pregnant? Like human female produce hcg...So what does a dog produce? Also if it is possible for a dog to fertilize a human females egg wouldent that cause a blighted ovum?

As people have said before, it is completely impossible for a human female to be impregnated by a dog. The chromosone sets are far too different to allow for fertilization of the egg. In fact, the enzymes on the outside of a dog sperm may cause it to be out-right rejected by the human egg (the enzymes are what allows the male human sperm to break through the surface of a human female egg and fertilize it).

Also, a human body would not accept a dog egg fertilized by dog sperm; it would reject it for the same resons as above: the enzymes and proteins are all wrong, and the human body will know it is foreign material.

This is the same reason why cabbits (true cabbits) do not exist. There are cats that have genetic deformities and whatnot... But that's another story, and those are still completely cats and not rabbits at all.

Hmm
I'm not an expert in biology, but it seems ridiculous to even think that a human egg could be fertilized by anything other than human sperm.

By the way, how many women have actually had sex with dogs?
I am guessing thousands based on the countless human/animal video clips on porn sites.

So if a dog could fertilize a human female, dont you think we would have had one such pregnancy so far in the hundreds of years of our existence?

Then why arent we seeing these freaks of nature around us? Lol
