This is my first time using bc and I just have a question about starting it. I was given my first pack today(wed).I told my doctor that my period had just started at 9pm the night before. He suggested that -to make myself a sunday starter- I skip the first 3 pills and begin taking the rest of the pack from there. I was just wondering if I will be protected from pregnancy during this pack because of this or will it be the next pack that I will be protected. I am on ortho tricyclen lo. Thanks

They say that bc starts to take affect right when you start taking the pill, but I would give it a full cycle just to be sure, especially since you are taking a lower dose.

Depending on what pill you have, and when you start taking it, sometimes it can take 2 weeks for it to be effective! Read the directions for your pill very carefully, I would still use protection for about a month just to be safe!
