Hello. I had an abortion in december of last year. It was a decision that was terrible and heartbreaking, but I know it was for the best.

Anyways, I went in, filled in paperwork, took a valium, half a loritab, and an antibiotic. Then, about 20 minutes later, it started. In about half an hour I was on my way.

That day wasn't too bad. I didn't bleed too much or cramp - just felt like a normal period day. It was like that for about a week. Then the doctor had me start birth control. The bleeding stopped - but the cramps haven't.

I get pms type cramps all the time. And sex isn't fun anymore. It hurts, and days afterward it hurts like crazy. I've never been this way before and was wondering if anyone else was...Or if anyone had any advice to this situation.

The emotional side of me has suffered, too. I'm a nervous wreck over this whole ordeal. I've prayed for forgiveness - which has helped. I've hid it from everyone. I know that's not good, but i'm not ready to just openly talk to anyone about it.

Anyways, if anyone has any advice, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Same Problem
I have had the same problem, I had an abortion about 3 months ago, I couldn't take any of the pain medication because I had to go into the clinic alone. It was the MOST painful thing I have ever gone through in my entire life. During the 5 minute process the pain was so intense that I began sweating and got a fever because the pain was so intense. After the procedure I was driving home and the pain began again. I had to drive an hour and a half to get back home. I stopped several times (once to throw up). I ended up driving myself to the emergency room because I couldn't handle the pain anymore.

Ever since then sex has been very painful, I can't really get sufficiently lubricated because I know that it will hurt, it almost feels like I have a cut inside and it gets reopened...I'm not sure how else to explain the pain. I also get random cramps, not just at the time when I should start my period but at random times throughout the month.

I had my OBGYN look and he said everything looked normal. Why the pain??
