I'm not sure what you mean. Braxton-hicks contractions are quite normal in the third trimester. They're like practice contractions. They may feel exactly like the real thing but your cervix doesn't thin or dilate and they usually aren't very regular in length. In a real contraction, your whole belly tightens (you may or may not feel it in the beginning), they'll be pretty regular, start coming closer together, and your cervix will change. Your tummy may be harder than usual if you're having a contraction (real or braxton-hicks) or if the baby is trying to stretch. (by whole belly tightening, I mean, it's kind of like someone has a net wrapped around your uterus and is pulling it tight. I hope I explained that well :? Unless it's back labor, at which point, it'll be like you have a really bad strain in your lower back.)just for reference, I knew girls who were in extreme pain while still at 1cm and i've known girls (myself included) who didn't feel anything until about 5cm. You never know what you'll get.
