Hi, Natalie.
Welcome here and thanks for your reply. Firstly, I wish you all the best and that you success on getting healthy again, you seem really committed to help your won self on getting to that point. That is very important Let us hear from you soon and know how you're doing.

You're giving precious advice, so I'll quote some things you said.

NoMoreTears wrote:
You need to bring up your confidence in yourself aswell as with food. Only eating 300 calories will simply leave you with a distorted body image. If you want to lose weight and therefore be happier eith yourself then that is good but the way your doing it isnt going to help you atall.

If you try and eat like a cereal bar in the morning and some toast and then pasta that will be healthy and it is a great place to start. You need to build up your confidence aswell... (...)

300 calories is not enough to maintain a healthy life style and though you might not feel confident at the moment I know that even if you lose 2 stone you will still think that in just 15pounds lost you will look great and it will continue like that until you pass out and maybe even die. (...)

The fact that you are aware of what you are doing and have asked for advice shows that you know it's not a good idea and you want some help. (...)

I am soon leaving for rhodes farm where I will be treated but the pain it causes those you love will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Ok, so ive been seeing a dietcian for 7 months now because of rapid weight loss... just this time last year i was over weight and alll i wanted was to be a nice normal weight.... but i've now lost 5 stones since september and im on my way to being underweight, the weight loss has slowed down but still going.

I went from a size 16 to the size 8 i am at the moment, but cant seem to stop myself from not eating, when i do eat i feel bad about it ad try to exercise it off and although im told im no i still feel fat!!!

I was hoping at first if i were to lose a little weight i would be more confident with myself and my body but im not- if asked i could point out hundreds of things wrong with my body shape and size!
But it's makimg me ill, i see the doctor once a month too.

How can you trick your mind into thinking your thin enough- or at a good size????

x

hii,

Well I completely know what you mean but atleast you are aware of your situation. You need to stop looking at your body as if it was all rong but start seeing it like it is absolutely fine. There is no such thing as a right or rong body. Everything about your body is made how its meant to be and you shouldn't feel the need to lose weight.

You need to just relax and go out shopping with a really good friend, buy yourself some absolutely gourgeous clothes irrealevant of the size. Then go to a spa and relax. Have fun and be confident because that is the key. I'm not saying that it's easy because in all honesty it will be extremely difficult because your part of the cycle that affects so many people now.

I hope that this helps you.

Luv natz .x.

Extremely eHealthy
I was seeing yesterday in the discovery health channel a clinic where the morbidly obese go and that is what their diet is for all day - 200 calories. Well but given they are obese to the point of reaching death for eating so much 200 calories sounds about right. Then they showed how some of the patients continue of denial of food addiction (weighting over 500 pounds) and how they cheat on the rehab program. Like they would order pizza at night to have it delivered to their rooms. They were all begging for the gastric bypass surgery but at the huge weight they didn't qualify and the doctor insisted in not operating them unless they show they can control the food addiction. He said the surgery will not cure the food addiction and so the addiction problem needs to be addressed first. Anyways in seeing these patients with eating disorders really if the patient is not willing to cooperate there is nothing that medicine can possibly do for them. It's so sad..

It's amazing the things people have to go through in some clinics and how they are treated. In my opinion, it's a lot better to take a small step towards a goal than to try to do one giant leap. Really, it's easier!
I know that seeing obese people makes us want to be thin and feel that being shapeful (which is fine!) is already very repulsive. But this happens just the other way around: those people feel sick and sad when they see someone smaller.

The morbidly obese have the same problem of the anorexics. Both are fatal and both can't be cured unless the patients makes an effort to be cured.

I get what you're saying
My limit has been 200 for a couple of months and it's hard. I'm a full on bulimic so not only do I starve myself I also rot my teeth and the rest of that fun stuff. I recently was FORCED to acknowledge a problem I've had for a year. Stop now while you still have the chance!

ahh
I weigh 108 lbs and I am 4'11. I find that eating a normal 1600 calorie diet does not allow me to lose weight at all.. in fact I put weight on. I am pretty active. I gain muscle very quickly. So if I ate around 500 calories a day and I lost muscle would that be ok since I look too bulky because of the muscle???

Oh boy...
Just to fill you in, all teenagers (13-19) should be eating 1800-2400 calories IN ONE DAY. I wish you all luck with your weight and all.... but really. Just keep up the calories, eat when you are hungry! That is the main thing. ALso stick to healthier foods, and remember chocolate is not your enemy. Also keep up your NORMAL levels of exersize, and your weight should balance itself out to a perfect fit for your body! Smile

trick your metabolism
if you eat 300 calories a day daily your body goes into starvation mode and learns to survive off that much so u stop losing weight. You need to trick your metabolism by eating a different amount of calories per day. I'm 5'5 and 117 and im trying to get down to 100 as well and i'm starting my new diet this week. I've heard that something like 800 calories one day, 600 the next, 400 the next, 200 the next, 0 the next, and then back to 800 and so on, works because ur tricking your metabolism and therefore still losing weight

just make sure u workout more than you eat

omg....
wow, why does everyone want to loose weight'? A body that is 5'5 and 117 lbs is PERFECT. why would you need to loose wieght!? I am sure you are beautiful the way you are. And by doing lots of exercise while loosing weight, you will probably be building your muscle tissue, which weighs MORE than fat. Just putting that out there...

Do not worry about the scale.
Do not dream to be a NUMBER. YOu are a human being.
If you want to get into a thinner shape, just try to eat three meals a day,
including fruit and vegetables. (prefferably fruit with breakfast and veggies for supper and both with lunch).
Remember not to snack too much either.
And keep up your activity level on average.
If you do not feel a change, then try to eat different foods such as soups, whole grain breads/pasta/crackers, salads(fruit and veggie) and... basically things that are healthy, low glycemic, low calorie and filling all at the same time.
Good luck Smile
