I have been told that I have anxiety. It started in march when I returned to work fulltime after having my first child (she was 8 months when I returned).
I started off just feeling a little dizzy, blurred vision! Then I started having chest pain, heart racing, heart missing beats, breathlessness, fatigue for days, aches and pains mainly in the upper back, high abdominal pain, lump in my throat etc - all the symptoms I am told of anxiety.

Test I have had done are - stress test, ultra sound of the heart, brain and chest scan, camera in both ends!, blood tests, thyroid test, urine tests, 24 hour holter monitor, ultra sound on upper abdominal area (all), lower abdominal (all).... Have I missed anything - numerous ecg's while having an episode. All have come back clear!

I am on xanax 0.25mg twice a day.

I have a couple of weeks of really good and then I will wake up feeling crap and this last for a couple of days sometime longer. Is this anxiety!

Hello bec *shakes hand*
its sounds like the doctors have really given you a full mot.

Im sorry to tell you, this but anxiety in itself really can make you feel a bit "crappy"! If your new to the medications then maybe its a side-effect? Maybe you could ask about a medication that would focus on the symptoms of anxiety that doesnt leave you feeling drowsy. A good example of these types of medications is propranolol. Propranolol works for me as it doesnt make me feel tired but it has completly eliminated the most uncomfortable symptom in my case, which was palpatations.

Thanks for taking the time to reply to me.

The tiredness was before I started my xanax. I still do get tired - I think that it is because my whole body gets so tense when I experience an attack.

Another question I have is - some days I have constant ache's and blury vision (not really blury just cloudy, I suppose this is how to discribe it) but no other symptoms, is this something others are experiencing too. Or I can be breathless but no other symptoms?

Thanks again for giving me some insight into how others deal with anxiety and what helps them etc
