In the summer my schedule gets all off, and i've missed up taking my ortho tri cyclen pills within at least 5 hours, and missing one altogether. I usually get my period on the same day, but when I miss one or mess the hours up (usually doesn't happen), I usually get it earlier or little spottings before i'm due to have it. Well I haven't had any of that, and it's kind of weird because I was so sure i'd get it yesterday.

I mentioned it to my bf because i'm kind of scared. We've had unprotected sex twice in the last month, and twice pulling out (which is just as bad..I know). He thinks as long as I take the pill sometime during the day, everything is fine and protected. I don't think I am. (*if anyone has a site that says that the pill is less effective when not taken at the same time, please post so I can show him*).

Just incase, I was wondering how many days someone should wait after the day they're suppose to get their period before really freaking out and getting a test/going to Dr.?

And how the effectiveness of the pill goes down if not taken at the same time each day?

I don't know how much the effectiveness is compromised... I know I don't always take mine within the same 5 hours o.O

but I also don't normally get my period until the fourth day of the sugar pills. The first time I took the pills when I was 16 (not because I was having sex tho!) I always menstruated on the first day; now I don't. It gave me a scare, and that's how I found this forum :)

i'm on my third month of the pills now, and on my last week of active pills. I still get nervous, because... Well, I just do. My bf and I have a lot of unproteced sex.
