Hi,

Me To, From Texas
Hey adam , I have had epi since 1980. Im 43 yrs old now and still have it. I have lived a normal life ever since then. Ive allways took my medication and have not had any problems as long as I have done what the doctor has told me. In 1980 , all I had done was a eeg test witch came out normal. I decieded to go back and have a mri and they found a small mass but they dont know what it is yet. Still have to have some more test done. Make sure they check you out real good. Times have changed in 20 years.

Me Too!!
Adam,
i'm 38 and had my first grandmal at 20 years of age and that was when the docs finally diagnose me. Even though I was having problems already.
Just make sure you take your meds and you get enough sleep.

Hello I am 14 years old and just a month ago my doctor told me I had recovered. I was diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 10 and have had 8 seizures since then. Even though i'm not epileptic anymore, I still have to take my meds for 2 more years. For people who are scared of this, don't be. Epilepsy is what you have, not who you are.

My husband is 30, he's had it since he was 25. He's gone for a few years without sz... But in the past 9 months has had them increasingly. I'd say he averages one a month. But has aura's almost every day.
He'd write this homself, but he's currently on a buisness trip. I miss him.

Hello
I have had g~mal's since I was 13...They stopped before having my son(when I was about 24), started having daily aura's and g~mal's 2-2.5 years ago and now experience more nocturnal seizures than ever before. I worked since I was 17 now currently on leave without pay. I hope that they find a drug that can clear all this up for good (really can play a number on ones emotions) thank goodness for the lord giving me a wonderful husband and some mighty fine friends and family.

My Boyfriend Has It Too !
Hello ! I'm kim also from england (bournemouth) and my boyfriend was diagnosed with epilepsy 8 months ago. He was having auras almost everyday on and off for about 2 years with 3 tonic-clonis seizures in between. On the third, his gp diagnosed him. The big seizures have stopped altogether now, but the auras still come back every month or so. He is looking into different medication/diet/sleeping patterns to stamp it out altogether if possible. His gp thinks his condition stemmed from birth and only came about now (he is 2. I'm only here because he doesn't have the internet, but he always reads my print-outs, it can be lonely being the only one with it I suppose.

33 years old here - I was diagnosed with epilepsy at age 13, stemming from a head injury I received when I was six. Ive gone the rounds with the medicatoins - phenobarb (ugh), dilantin (a little better, but I had to take too much of it...), tegretol (massive weight gain!) and finally depakote (yayy!).
