Hello
i have just joined this site as in the last year I have had a very weird experience when just falling to sleep. Just as I drop off I can feel my head shaking and I try to wake up but I can't I can not move but I can make a noise, sometimes I can feel my head to shake just before I drop off and I stop myslef from falling asleep, last night I made a noise to try to attract the attention of my wife and she heard me and began to talk to me and shake me as she could see my head was trembling. I could feel and hear her trying to wake me but I couldnt wake up, after about 30 seconds I came round.

This was the first time my wife had seen it I had only experienced it myself before and wasnt to sure if it was a dream.

I have just started doing shifts in my current job working nights one week and days the next so thinking this has caused it, I beleive it is some kind of sleep paralysis.

Has anyone else had this expereience and what do you think caused it ??

Thanks

I used to experience something like that when I was just falling asleep also. I recall it was like my head was more asleep than the rest of me, almost like something was cutting off the blood flow to my head--like severely asleep. Kinda like when an arm or leg goes to sleep, but it was my head. Really strange, never did find out what is was, hasnt happened in a few years.

I thought it had something to do with my neck or back--and th nerves involved with it. I dont know though
