I was wondering if any zoloft users on here have switched to other meds with better results and less side effects. I am on buspar and zoloft and my dose was just increased and I am sweating bullets which makes my anxiety fly out of control. I also have no sex drive. Members of my family have reported success with welbutrin. Does anyone have any opinions on welbutrin. Thanks in advance.

Hey, I take welbutrin. I like it. The only side effect I have is that if I take my 2nd dose too close to bedtime its hard to go to sleep. I have taken zoloft and paxil before but I like welbutrin better. Welbutrin hasnt caused me any sexual side effects iether. I know it doesnt work for everyone but it has been pretty good for my depression, however it does not help with my panic attacks. I have to take different meds for that. I hope this helps a little. I think its definately worth a try.

Thanks for the reply. I too suffer from anxiety which sometimes induces panic attacks. A few family members take wellbutrin but I also need something for the panic attacks. May I ask what medication helps you with that?

Well for my panic attacks my doctors havent actually nailed one down yet. We are still trying to figure out which one works best for me. When I was in the hospital for surgery they gave me ativan. It calmed me down but it put me to sleep. They perscribed xanax for me but I hate it. I had an awful severe panic attack friday night. I took a xanax and it made me nervous and I was afraid I was going to go into another panic attack. Anyway it kept me up till after 4am in the morning that night. Needless to say I wont be taking xanax again. There are a lot of people who really like it but it just doesnt work for me. I am not sure what they will try next. I go see my doc this week so I will let you know. I am thinking maybe they will put me on a low dose of ativan since it calms me. I just dont want to be tired all day so they need to get it low enough that I can stay awake.

I've been on many medications in my life and the only one I had a problem with was welbutrin. I had tremor's the worst I could imagine. I couldn't even drive. Thats the only side effect that I had. They said that I would have side effects the first week or so, but I couldn't take it so I didn't even proceed. But people have different bodies, so that might not happen to other people. Did it?

Wellbutrin
I had zoloft first and it was supposed to have a downphase before it brought me up. I got sick and really depressed so I was like forget this. My sister was on wellbutrin already and she suggested it to me so I asked my doctor and I got on it and neither me or my sister had any side affects and it worked for us both the 1st day. Now I take it and I don't feel medicated or anything, just living life normal without the strong depression.

What Are They For...
I think I have an anxiety disorder but not sure yet since I haven't been diagnosed... I was just wondering what the meds are for, like someone wrote that xanax gave them an anxiety attack. I know others with anxiety take this too, so if it gives you worse anxiety why do they prescribe it? Sorry if that's confusing how I put it. I was just wondering because i'm pretty sure i'm in need of meds, but I don't have depression. Just constant worry and panic, mostly at night when trying to go to bed, and panic attacks and heart-attack-like symptoms at any time. Are all the meds everyone talks about, like xanax, wellbutrin, and paxil mainly for depression? I don't know much about meds I guess but I think I need something to almost sedate me instead of perk me up.

About Wellbutrin
Hello everyone. I went to the doc today because my anxiety has been getting pretty bad again. He gave me wellbutrin. Does anyone know for sure if it will help with anxiety? On the pamplet I got about the med it says that this med can cause anxiety. And he also said take it twice a day as needed....But I don't understand that because the pamplet also says that it might not start working for a week or so. If anyone has anxiety and uses wellbutrin let me know how it is helping you out. I would really appreciate it. One of my side effects of anxiety is breathing problem...Which include trying to take deep breaths but can't...But when I do it relieves me but than starts all over and the yawning and sighing relieve me to but really suck at the same time.
