Ok.. Im also new with my dentures but it don't have any odors. Here's my routine first I brush my dentures with a denture toothpaste then I soak my dentures on a mint flavored tablet (i use any products like polident, efferdent and generics from walmart) overnight. Brush your gums with a tootpaste using soft bristle toothbrush brush it gently and brush your tounge too..

Hope this can help you. Good luck :d :d :d

Don't have denture odor, but my dentures have stain 'cuz of smoking (but I quit smoking now)..I think it's ok to try different brands but not that often, 2 brands will do..I use two brand of cleanser now, the efferdent plus & polident anti-bacterial denture cleanser, it works for me..But I need a cleanser for removing the stain cause by smoking..Any suggestion?

I use the product that works for me. For example I use the fres n' brite in brushing my dentures, then for soaking I use the polident. Then on my travels I use whatever I see on walmart. I don't really have any particular brands. As long as the product works for me I get it.

The reason why I dont have stain, I brush my denture everytime I eat food so the crammed in particles will be removed, the only thing that I complain is having some bad odors, I didnt know that I have to soak my dentures overnight. Maybe thats the reason why of having a little bad odor.

Ok! Try to soak it everynight, whatever denture cleanser your using, and brush it 2/3 times a day..I think it woyuld help to prevent denture odor..I suggest to use dentu-creme or dentu-gel of polident for your toothpaste 'cuz it has a low abrasion level that won't scratch denture acrylic.. :)

I don't know what's the buzz about this polident. Do you people only use polident? Why don't you try the other denture cleaners out there.. Well you know they all work the same, except for the products with mexican labels on it they didnt work for me . :p well I hope this is not some kind of you know what. Polident is a good product, I agree so don't overtalk about it ok.. (you know what I mean.. ).

Nope, I use other brands too, but I dont use denture cleaner without brand coz usually most of them is not that working. If I dont have polident I use efferdent most specially when im out of town.

Yeah, maybe thats one of the reason why most of us use polident. Anyway im using 2(two) major brands and that is polident and efferdent. I tried clorox for almost 2 weeks and I feel that my gums become thinner :( ... And I feel really wasted.

Ok ok... Let us stop talking about polident so much we know that is works and it is ok.. This thread is already like a commercial add for polident and efferdent ok. Let us just focus on the thread question..

If you smoke, smoking will really leave stain on your dentues because of nicotine if this happens imediately soak your dentures on any of the product said in this forum it will work just fine. Soak it overnight, if the stain is still in there go to your dentist and they are the one who knows how to clean it. It will just look good as new.

All right, all right! Well, if the denture cleanser really can't make it, you have to go to the dentist for much better..Anyway, it's also the responsibility of the dentist.. :d

Buy polident tablets or any denture cleaners you use and put them in a denture bath using warm water. You can buy special denture bath containers at the drug store. Also he needs to brush and rinse them before putting them back in his mouth. Never sleep with them in place overnight. In the morning, he should rinse them and put them back in place for the day. Once he starts this routine he will find that the dentures are clean all the time. Change the denture cleaner solution once a week or whenever necessary. Any container with a tight fitting lid can serve as a bath container. He could use a margarine container or tupperware container etc.
I have two partials and this procedure works very well. There are some denture cleaners for partials available at the drug store. If you still need help call the denturist where he got the dentures for more assistance.
