A few years ago I started getting hair
growth in areas where only a man should
have hair - upper lip, lower lip, chin,
neck, arms, stomach, feet etc. But at the
same time my sex drive started going up.
My doctor put me on birth control pills,
which slowed the hair growth, but made my
sex drive plummet, so I went off of them.
A few weeks ago, getting tired of having
to get waxed every week and to tweeze
every day, I went to a dermatologist. She
drew blood for tests, and it came back
that my testosterone levels are about a
quarter of what they should be. Which
makes absolutely no sense - usually it's
an increase in testosterone that brings on
the hair growth and the sexual appetite.
I have an appointment with an
endocrinoligist in a few weeks to try and
figure this whole thing out, but in the
mean time I am just trying to find some
answers and possibly any one else that has
had experience with this sort of thing.
Oh and should mention that I do have
hypothyroidism...

Reduced free testosterone can sometimes
mean you have increased estrogen
levels.... Have it checked.
