I am a 28 yr old female.I have been having pain behind my left knee /upper calf that has gotten worse over time.It aches a little but mostly when I go to stand up my knee hurts to straighten and walk. But after a few steps it feels better .I thought I had a swollen lymph node back there b/c I have had a hard time with nodes swelling on my left side and fever of unknown origion for about a year now.Back to why I thought it was a node is I have a blue bump at the top of my calf in the crook of my knee.I went to the doctor and he looked at it and said it is a very long hard cord like vericose vein and is ending me to a vein specialist. My worrie is I am going in for a pelvic laparoscopy in a couple of days and I wont be going to the vein spec. Until after the proc..Could a vericose vein cause this much pain and should I worry.(this leg is always bent under my but when I sit thats why I am worried.)
