Hi im a young I was married months back.. My husband and I really want a baby we have been trying for over a year. We have had absolutly no luck.. I dont understand why that could be... Im so young shouldnt I be soo very fertile? I dont understand how could I have infertility problems at this young of age? I have herpes and so does my husband could that be the reason why? Im scared to go to a gyn and ask them whats wrong because I fear they wouldnt tell me because of my age and would think its stupid for somone my age to get pregnant... I recently bought some folic acid pills because I have read on numerous sites that haveing plenty of folic acid helps in getting pregnant or somthing like that. Also my periods are very irregular always always... I read that could be a serious problem and causes infertility.... Is that true... Im always under alot of stress and dont eat right. Thats the reason why I thought my periods were irregualr... I started smoking about 8 months ago... I guess thats a big cos of why im so infertile but I dont drink alcohol and I dont smoke weed neither does my husband well he does but not alot once or twice a month if that.. Could you all please offer me some advice on what to do? Am I really infertile? What would my gyn say ? Would they help me get pregnant? Thanks soo much !

I work at a doctor's office and herpes does not affect fertility unless it causes pid (pelvic inflammatory disease) or other things. It does cause complicated births though. So if you do fall pregnant you will probably have to have a cesarian section surgery. Go to a search engine (e.G. Lycos, dogpile, yahoo, etc) and type in herpes and fertility and check out the web results. Then check herpes and labor. Hope this helps you.

All I can say is go to a OB/GYN and asked to be tested. My best suggestion is to have an HSG done. It tells you if there is any thing wrong with your repro organs. You can also be put on meds to help you ovulate. The meds only cost like $10 which is good. You can also look into alternative med. There are a lot of non-medical ways to help you get pregnant.

WAKE UP!
You are a married young woman who can have as many children as you want to in THIS country, and you don't owe anybody any explanation, or so much as a RESPONSE if they interject their opinion as to what age is ok to become pregnant.

But it takes MATURITY to raise healthy kids, and anybody who refuses to obtain medical treatment because of fears they'll receive a lecture is not exhibiting the greatest level of maturity, much less problem-solving power!

If you're serious about what you want, then stop all the runaround and go AFTER it! The only thing between you and a family right now is YOU.
