Q: Red Spots

I have a few red spots around my genitalia, but not actually on them. They are located near my pubic hair and I am terrified that I might somehow of contracted an std. I have no pain, just these spots. They've been there for about half a year.

If they are in you pubic hair, they are probably either ingrown hairs, or new hairs... But that's not a gaurentee....

One is the size of a dime. It's more of a light pink spot, no itching or pain. Could it be something other than an std?

it's probably not an ingrown hair then. You might want to see your doctor if it doesn't clear up in a week or so.

Do a search on molluscum .. Thats how it started for me..

If there are only a couple get them zapped quickly and it may be over for you .. If it spreads .. Welcome to our nightmare :(

Just to follow up on that ..

Molluscum isn't just an std .. It can be passed by general touching .. Although it has no ill effects .. It's unsightly and hard to get rid of ..

I didn't mean to come off like that with my nightmare statement :p

good luck!

Are you sure it's an std though? I'm not sexually active and have only had one sexual encounter with one person that I seriously doubt has any std's.

Btw, these spots are not bumps. They don't rise up like a pimple or wart. They are merely skin discolorations that are painless, itchless, etc.

Are you sure it's not something else!?
