Dilated

Hi everyone... Im back (if anyone remembers hehe) I went to the doctor the other day... Im in my 36th week now and she found out that im already 2 cm open.. Does this mean I could go to labor anytime?? However, my due date is up until september 20... Im also having light crampings at night (like having my period)... I just want to know if a pregnant woman dilates would mean going to labor anytime soon even if its this early just like my situation... Thanks a lot!

I was at 2 or 3 cm with all my kids when I went into full labor. I did have b/h contractions with the last 2. But id say you could possibly go all the way to due date or you might go into labor early. Have you lost mucus plug?? Do you know what it is, what to look for??

I don't really know if I already lost it... I use panty liners all the time because im having little discharge sometimes.. So I didn't really notice and it might have absorbed it.. What color is it? Is it bloodlike? But what you're saying about going to labor anytime soon is just a possibility right? And I might go to full term? Thanks for the info..

Thanks (mama17)... It's funny, I tend to go out more these days and walk a lot.. Like walking the whole afternoon at the mall (i get bored easily at home).. I heard on these weeks I should be more on resting... Is it bad to travel or walk a lot around this stage? My family have plans of traveling this coming labor day weekend.. Is it ok for me to come? Its about 2 hour drive..

The mucus plug is like a "snotty large slimy blub of gunk"
you wipe and wipe be4 you get it all out. You would notice. Some pple comes earlier on, but mostly comes around 2 weeks from birth. Some times a indicater for when baby is coming--usually expelled 2 weeks before baby comes.

In my opinion I think that you should not go if its too far out because anything can happen at any given moment and you should be as close to a hospital as possiable but that's waht I was told when I wanted to go out of town but that's my opinion just be very careful if you were to decide to go anywhere I don't want to spoil anything just becareful with whatever you decide okay.
