Hi,

i have been having one sided pain pressure behind my right eye for over a year now. I had very bad pnemonia and within 4 weeks of having it, I went overseas, 14 hour flight, so the pressure could have started it all. Over time my eye is swollen on lower lid and puffy and the pain is daily and I can't take it any longer, please can someone suggest something. I have been to my dr who said it was migraine, they treat me with migril, anti inflammatory which helped....Now which one helped, the migril or pain killer and anti inflammatory, I always took them together. Then he sent me off to a ear, nose and throat specialist who looked down my nose with this scary long tube, and said my sinus are fine. Next step to a neurologist who just put me onto tranqulizers, trepiline, which were meant to help migraines....Which did nothing, I stopped after a month. I just continue daily to take anti inflammatory and pain killers, which help, and sometimes migril. Now my one sie is really painful, almost like I have got an infection, over my right ear side. Would migraines cause my eye to swell and puff out so much, or could it be sinus that dr's are just not picking up. My inner gut feeling is, sinus. I am in such pain

Just Confirmed....sinus
I have just had confirmation from the ear, nose & throat specialist that there is a blockage behind the eye. He said he does not come across this often and what happened was, before I was over a bad flu, I flew overseas and the pressure in the plane, blocked the sinus and it got progressively worse. It has taken them 18 months to eventually diagnose me, after I was on tranquilisers for 6 months, and dr's telling me it was neurological. This week, first tiem in over a years, I have been pain free, due to the correct meds, and a correct diagnosis.........He now wants to operate, has anyone had this op and how bad is it?
