Q: Side Effects From Tx Drugs

Looking for info from other long term transplant receipient that can provide some insight into side effects from transplant drugs. Especially skin problems. I am at 22 years post transplant and lots or problems with skin and fighting herpes, i.E. Cold sores, shingles, etc.

The immunosupression can cause plenty of problems not limited to gettign contagious disease easier, cancer, and digestive trouble. Advice: wash your hands religiously. Try not to touch your eyes very often. Avoid people at work etc that have a cold or something else. I have noticed hand tremors and sleeplessness as the main problems I have run into with my txp meds. That and god-forsaken prednisone causing bone loss. I have been diagnosed with osteopenia and have to slam the calcium constantly and exersize a ton to increase my bones density. Take care of your kidney and it will take care of you.
