It's Been 4 Weeks And I Can't Take the Pain Much Longer! Posted: 08-19-05 22:31pm
I have had a severe headache for 4 weeks
now with no break. I have went to
massage, chiropractor and accupuncture and
nothing is helping. When I lay down the
pain is not as severe, however when I
stand up it gets so intense. I have been
struggling to go to work with the pain and
in the last 2 weeks I now have radiating
pain down both of my arms. I take
oxycontin, however it doesn't work.
Nothing is helping and I am getting so
frustrated and depressed with the non-stop
intense pain.
The pain in my head is a sharp intense
pain in the back of my head and on the
left side of my head and behind my left
eye. I am getting so frustrated with my
family physician because she is taking so
long getting things done and the longer it
takes the more depressed and frustrated I
am getting. I don't know what else to
do, I just want the pain to stop.
Has any had any of these symptoms and if
you did what was it?

Are there any other symptoms? Aversion to
light? Nausea? I really feel bad for
you, but I really can't help. I've had a
headache with eye pain for 2 years. That
eye pain really is terrible. All I get
out of my drs is that they are migraines.
(i don't believe them) migraines shouldn't
last this long, in my opinion. I too get
fed up with the pain. Sometimes you feel
like you can't take it anymore. Constant
pain for as long as we have to deal with
is terrible and drs don't seem to
understand. It has taken me until today,
2 years! , to find a primary care doc who
actually listened to me. It seemed like
he really cared. Good luck to you and
keep pushing for answers! -jen

Stich,
if you are having migraines, oxycontin is
not the medication to take the pain away.
I personally only know of zomig and it is
a wonder drug for me. Has your doctor
referred you to a neurologist? Have you
had an mri? I would highly suggest that
you either get a referral, or fight the
doc and insurance to get a referral, or
just go on your own if your doctor won't
give you a referral.
To try and relieve the pain for now, try
ice and/or heat. Otc exedrin migraine is
good. There are also some otc and doctor
prescribed migraine patches (lidocaine?)
that you can put on your forehead for a
few hours. They have helped me but just
a little bit. Research what rebound
headaches and see if you follow the
pattern. You might want to do some
research and find out what foods are
triggers for migraines and stay away from
them and watch your caffeine intake until
your doctor can help you.
I hope this is of some sort of help.
God bless...

Migraine Relief Posted: 11-07-05 23:01pm
My wife amy used to suffer from migraine
headaches as well. General chiropractic
care did not help them. They actually
increased in frequency over a two year
period of time to 6 migraines every 2
weeks. She found relief with a rare
gentle procedure called nucca. The
doctor that helped her is in atlanta, ga.
She went 13 months without a mirgraine
while under nucca care. She had a
mirgraine after 13 months of relief and
received a nucca treatment by me, her then
fiance, and it has been almost 3 years
since her last attack. We have a website
that may help you get some answers and
help you find a nucca doctor near you. Http://www.Bessoclinic.Com
god bless you,

I used to drench my head in cool water and
lay down. Only suggestion except some
kind of migraine medications.
