Hi,

for the last five years I have been suffering from severe mentrual pain, i'm only in my early twenties and I don't think I can take this pain for the rest of my life. Sometimes I feel like I would rather die, than suffer this pain it gets that bad. It makes me feel really dizzy and faint and I vomit with the pain. Painkillers don't seem to help me anymore. What can I do to stop the pain?? Please help me, anyone.

I'm in the same boat as you. I've had it since I started my period at 12...& i'm now 33. Naproxin used to work, but not anymore. My obgyn gave me a prescription for darvocet & that barely touches the pain...& said I might have endometriosis. Seeing a new obgyn today for another problem...& am going to ask about the debilitating menstrual cramps. See if he says the same thing as my other obgyn...

Its probably endometriosis!! I had it for years before I was diagnosed!!

The earlier its treated the better you are in the long run!!

Hi,
no I never have been to my gp about this. Endometriosis runs in my family, I really hope I don't have this, I think I do but i'm scared to see a doctor about it because they will say I have and i'm scared that I wont be able to have children in the future. I have had severe anaemia and depression also within the last few years, does anyone know if these could be related to endometriosis??

Thanks for replying.

Sooner you find out--the better the outcome, please go to the dr about this. Every thing is hormonal. I have a condition where I either make too much seratonan or not enough. And seratonan is related to female hormones, thyroid, sleep, and "depression"

so they could all be related maybe if you dont like drs go and find over counter seratonan "herb" treatment--for depression and all these things could level out. I am trying to find this for my daughter, who doesnt hardly eat and has terrible weight problems, depression, missed many periods up until she had baby. I have read a lot lately on this. It even help sugar levels in the blood. For diabetics.

mate I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but if endo runs in your family its most likely the case that you do! Both my mother and sister has endometriosis. My sister so bad that she can't have children!! But only because she left it too late to try and conceive!!.

I worry everyday that I wont be able to have children and i'm only 25!! But seriously go to your gyno and if your diagnosed ask what steps have to be made too lesson the risks of infertility!!

Keep your chin up, be strong and go with the flow!!! But remember....Sooner the better!!!:-)

That's what i'm worrying about the most that I wont be able to have children. I've been stressing about my life all day, thinking about having children within the next few years incase I wont be able to have any in the future. My family who have had the endometriosis diagnosed has had no treatment for it in terms of medications. I'm just trying to find ways of reducing the effects naturally if I can and I will pray alot also that it goes away. I am already taking anti-depressants, but the depression still seems to persist for no reason, which is why I thought maybe it's related to hormone imbalances or something. I'm going to try and take black seed oil everyday, someone told me it can prevent it, it tastes really horrible though - but i'm going to continue taking it see if that helps me.

Are you on the pill???
I was told to go back on the pill when diagnosed.
Also...
I had been on anti-depression medication and i'm pretty sure a symptom was mentral pain. Maybe that has something to do with it!!

Hi,

no i'm not on the pill I was told that I should never take it due to close relatives in my family suffering adverse side effects from it. What can you take other than the pill which will help it??

It's definately not the anti-depressants that has caused the pain because I had the pain along time before I starting taking the anti-depressants. I have noticed that I get more pain when i'm more anaemic though, I have no idea as to why this is, I was thinking maybe it's caused by lack of oxygen to the internal muscles or something

the strange thing is that occurs with me is that sometimes it's not my lower abdomen that cramps but higher up above the umbilical region, and my it begins to feel so sore and painful that I can't get up out of bed because it hurts so much if I move even an inch. But luckily this hasn't happened to me for the last few months which i'm very grateful for!!

Thanks for the reply...

Not a Problem!!
I just hope that i've helped in some way!!

Just one more thing!! When I was first put on the pill I think I had about everyside effect there was. Doctors changed me over to marvelon. Its also advised to be taken if you have endo. I had no problems with it what so ever. Hopefully that might help!!

Try This
I had the same problem for the last 14 yrs!! I'm only 27 and i've had painful period all my life.
I think I finally found my cure but i'll tell u my 14 yr struggle.

Try 1: birth control pills
kinda helps. But I don't like to depend on chemicals and it doesn't really fix the problem, so I stopped.

Try 2: herbal remedy, dong quai
got rid of a lot of pain and period is also slightly more regulated. But a lot of herbs are contaminated these days, decided to stop too.

Try 3: regular vitamins
took centrum for a while. Thought I may be not getting enough of some nutrition. Didn't work.

Try 4: vitamin b complex one a day calcium
i think I found my cure! One month after I started taking these, my period was noticeably less painful. 2 months after, my period was only 5 days instead of my normal 10. 3 months after, my period did not hurt at all and I have a regular 30 day cycle instead of 40-50 days.

Good luck

I have the same problem. I am 23 and am healthy, other than this pain. I went to my gyno, suspecting every horrible nasty problem imaginable. I was diagnosed with a yeast/bv infection and they gave me clindesse to clear that right up. She also put me on yaz to regulate things and hopefully cease the monthly pain. She also scheduled me for a vaginal ultrasound, which was perfectly healthy. They gave me some tramadol for the existing pain, and told me to let the birth control run its course for 3 months. After that, if I still have pain, they want to do the endometriosis test. So far, after 1 month of birth control/tramadol, things seem to be getting better.

I made a huge mistake by self diagnosing myself - I just psyched myself up to be really sick. Turns out, I just needed a little fine tuning.

Good luck

I am 19 years old, and since I started having my period at 14, I have severe cramping ever cycle, and its twice a month  . At 17 I went on birth controll and it helped greatly, but since I am no longer taking it, my cycle has returned to its origional cycle. My grandma gave me something called magnesia phosphorica 6x (magnesium phosphate) to help with the pain. They are very tiny pellets that dissolve under the tongue, and they are fast acting... I normally take 5 at the begining of the day, and it usually calms the cramps down all day (8 hours, just enough to get me through my work day.)

they are used specifically for menstrual cramps. You can get them at any health food store, in a small vial of about 200 pellets, for $7.00.

Don't put up with the pain and suffering, there is help out there.

You may need to go on birth control pills to make your periods light and less painful.

Please see your dr
