birth control pills and sexual desire Posted: 08-04-03 01:02am
I was on bcp for five years, just stopped.
Well, now I am noticing my sexual desire
is much higher. I had a very low sexual
desire on teh pill. Has this happened to
anyone else?? I attributed it to Zoloft,
but now I think it was more the pill.
Also, always felt dryer in the vaginal
area.

My wife is currently on the pill and I
beleive that she has a very low sex drive.
Also, she suffers from less than the
best wetness during zex.
I don't know if the above symptoms are
from the pill, but it might be.

In response to daisydog...I feel the exact
same way. I've been on the pill for 6 or
so years and my boyfriend of the past 4
years and I are just not having as much
sex and I am really hoping that it is b/c
of the pill i'm on. I mean, our
relationship is great and I love him to
death, it's just when it comes to sex i'm
just not really interested. I am really
hoping it's b/c of the pill. I'm not
sure if this helped but just know that
you're not alone!

I have a low sex drive at times too.
I remember a few years ago, I went off the
pill and my sex drive was crazy. Then I
went back on and it dwindled. I donno
what the total effect are, it is changing
the hormones but I would think it would
make it better.
You could discuss this with your gyno and
see what he/she has to say about it.

Hey, I have been taking the birth control
pills for the past year, and I have had
the highest sex drive I have ever had. I
guess it really depends on what pill you
are taking and how your body in
interacting with it. I switched pills,
from jasmine which made me totally psycho
to ortho-tricycline which keeps me in
balance and horny.
