Who to Have In Room With You When Getting Ultrasound Done?
Posted: 08-18-05 11:20am

Hey I need some advice I am really torn.
I asked my mom if she wanted to
go with me and my husband for
my next ultrasound when we go
to find out the sex of our baby.
Well my husband is not too
happy with this decision but I
already asked my mom a couple
of weeks ago and she's really
looking forward to it. He said
that this is our first baby and that he feels
that this is something we should
experience together.....Alone, and that if
i want my mom could come in after we are told
what our baby is. But I think that
by then what's the point of her
even going if she'd miss the ultrasound?
Then said that it's fine if she'd go but
he won't go if she does.
Why can't she just go to another ultrasound
after we find out what we're having? Then if you want
she can be in the delivery room.

Maybe i'm wrong but I feel that it's ok for my mom to
go....Especially since I asked her if she wanted to a
couple of weeks ago. Also I want her to be in the
delivery room when I have my baby.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :)

I am sorry to say that I would have to agree with your husband on this one. All the excitement and anxiaty that you are feeling right now with this pregnancy your husband is feeling as well, it sounds like he just wants to be included, after all it is his baby too right??

Good luck, and congratulations.

Of course it's his baby. But after asking my mom to go and finding out how much she's looking forward ot it, I can't just tell her no!

Ok we figured it out as to what we will do. I will have it so that me and my husband are alone most of the ultrasound 'til we are told what our baby is, after that I will have my husband or the girl step outside and bring my mom in. When my mom comes in hopefully she'll ask my mom :"want to know what your grandchild is"? Then hopefully she'll continue with the ultrasound and it'll be over with.

That sounds like a really good idea to make everyone happy. It sounds like you are really close to your mom, that is great to know, my mom and I are really close as well, but I don't know how comfortable I would be with her in the delivery room with me, looks like you have an endless stream of support.

Good luck, and let us know what you are having.
