Q: Am I Too Late Into My Cycle to Be Fertile?

I started my last period on july 21. My periods are never the same. Sometimes I could only go 27 days and sometimes I could go 35. So my husband and I had sex on the 12th of this month and we decided that we are ttc now. He came inside me, and we hadn't had sex in a week and he hadn't masturbated, so his sperm count should have been pretty high. We also had sex in the afternoon. Could I be fertile this late in my cycle since my periods are never the same? Also, if I did concieve, would I miss my period his month or would it be next month? Sorry if this is stupid questions but im new to the fertility information! Thanks for any info :) wish us luck :)

Hmmm
I gotta say that masterbation has nothing to do w/ sperm count, he actually could have had 'older' sperm in the semen that wouldn't have lasted very long. Other than that, if your cycles aren't perfectly regular you're probably not too late in your cycle. We are ttc and all I can say is good luck to you

Actually I do think it may have been too late in your cycle. Masturbation has everything to do with sperm count... So it was good that he hadn't done it before having sex with you. In order to get the best swimmers, you don't want to have sex or have your husband masturbate in the days leading up to your most fertile days. And when you're most fertile, only have sex everyother day to give time to re-build a good sperm count.

Also, you could try ovulation predictor kits to find out your most fertile days. Good luck!!
