C-section How Early Can a Practictioner Diagonse? Posted: 08-16-05 09:10am
My practictioner told me at 5 months (21
weeks) that my baby is breech. I was
suprised that it mattered that early so I
asked her if babies even turn head down
that early. She said yes, but that a lot
of babies turn head down as late as 37-38
weeks. She discussed the possibility of
a cesarean and even cephalic version
therapy. Of course, with this being our
first child, I worried. I've read that
most babies do not turn head down until
32-35 weeks. I really don't want a
c-sectin because of the surgery and
recovery period. Any advice?

If your doctor is suggesting a c-section
this early, I would find another doctor!
There is a good chance that the baby will
move more over the next four months. I
would not consider a c-section this early!
If your doctor is pushing for it, I
would see a new Dr.

Oh no, she is not suggesting a c-section
right now!! She's just telling me that
the baby is breech and what will happen
when i'm ready to give birth. I'm just
more concerned with the baby being breech
so early. I've read that it's no big
deal, yet my practitioner tells me a lot
of babies have already turned into the
head down position already.
