Q: Feelings toward pregnancy

I am 5 weeks pregnant. This was a planned pregnancy. My moods have just been dipping lower and lower. Yesterday I cried for 3 hours straight.

90% of the time when the topic of the baby comes up it makes me want to cry, the other 10% of the time I feel almost indifferent. I just don't get it. Can anyone here relate to how I am feeling?

I don't have experience with depression or anxiety, but I am also on my first pregnancy, and my emotions have been out of control. Things that normally wouldn't remotely concern me now send me into uncontrollable sobbing. I can't explain it to my poor confused husband but he is a good sport. I guess my point in replying is to let you know that you're not alone in feeling completely unable to control feelings (especially irrational ones). For me, taking time to sit alone and meditate does the trick most the time. Hope you find something that works for you!

Anxiety
I don't have experience with depression, but I have physical symptoms of anxiety for years that are extremely annoying. I had gone through a period of not having any symptoms at all, and now, that I am 4 days from when I should get my period ( my husband and I are trying to conceive), the past week or so my anxiety attacks came back full force, except now they are accompanied by a strange "i am going to be sick" feeling.
I tested negative so far, but it may still be way to early to tell a positive.
But I am curious if morning sickness triggered the anxiety attacks to come back, or if I am reacting to possible morning sickness with the anxiety attacks. Very weird. I am used to them though, and I refuse to take unnecessary drugs if I am pregnant. I went off ativan ( like xanax) months before we tried to conceive. Don't want to hurt my baby before I know I am even pregggers!

Extremely eHealthy
First of all anxiety and depression is a hormonal imbalance in the brain. When you become pregnant talk about hormonal levels changing. So I believe is just hormonal and if you recognize that, it may help you to have some kind of contrrol with it, or just understanding of it--and that will help.

I was watching this program one day and the guy was talking about seratonin(which is my imbalance from time to time) and he was explaining it all starts with the seratonin then the other hormones in the body get all out of wack. Causing pcos, weight gain for no reason, weight on the belly only, thyroid problems and everything else. Cortisol, progestrone, estrogen, are just a few of the hormones getting messed up if you have a seratonin imbalance.
