I just had an mri but the doctor did not
order photos of the tailbone, said it was
unnecessary because nothing can be done
about the tailbone!
I have had oa for 6 years, hips and spine,
now for past 8 months the pain in my butt
is agonizing, I sit on a special pillow
and have even resorted to carrying it with
me, I also must fly international quite
often, this can be very painful, sitting
so long.
I'm assuming (because I live in an area
without good doctors and can go to us only
once a year) that this is osteoarthritis
progressed to tailbone.
Anyone else out there with any opionions?
Doctor gave me drugs for pain, I have been
taking 400mg of celebrex daily for years.
I don't want to start on those heavy pain
pills just yet, i'm 65 and have lots of
work to do yet.
Thanks for any discussion!

Is the pain in your pelvic area? Hips?
Sciatica? If you know that it's the
tailbone, how can you get it diagnosed?

anybody still chatting about this?
i've been to doctors, chiros..... i'm
looking at someone in chico, ca right now.
limited funds though. i've spent thousands
already. no relief yet.
ps.. it's not arthiritis. i think it might
be related to a pilonidal cyst either
known or not from someone's youth. it
ceates a "space" that the tail bone can
shift into at times. aggrivating the flesh
around it?
doctors don't seem to know

I'm sorry to hear this, Brent. What are
your symptoms? Can you sit comfortably?
How does the tailbone pain change your
life? And what have you learned it is NOT
so far?
