Hi. Im 17 from the uk and ive just purchased one bottle of actimine over the internet.

I wouldnt say I have bad acne at all..But at least a mild form mainly restricted to my forhead. However these ''pills'' claim that they can rid of whiteheads and blackheads and generally contribute to a healthy facial complexion(which is always good). The treatment states no side effects but could I damage my skin by takeing the pills, because my spots arent that bad?If I come off the treatment after two or three months with good results will my skin flare up worse than before? I havnt began treatment but im mainly worried about worsening my spots...Is there any chane that they might get worse?

Cheers, any help will be appreciated

ben

Hmmm ive never heard of this before. But if your acne does have a bit of a flair up dont stop. That is normal with pretty much any medication you take for acne. All the crap comes up from the surface and then it all leaves the body. Natures cure, tetracycline, accutane etc... All does it so I wouldnt be suprised if this does. But be patient and you will be clear soon. The only medication I know that never gave me an inital breakout and cleared me from day 1 is benzoyl peroxide.

Accutane is a good pill but is for severe acne. If you dont have severe acne you wont get it. Tetracycline takes forever to work.

I've never tried pills before, but I also have achne mostly on my forehead, and no where else... If you have bangs (some guys do) that might be the problem of your achne, keep your hair oil free from your face. At night, I put on sea breeze astringent for oily skin (the blue kind), and it helps alot... I alternate with seabreeze at night and neutrogena face wash in the morning. Try avoiding dairy products (such as cheese) and greasy foods.

I used accutane way back in the day when my skin was still giong through changes. It really upset my mood quite a bit so my doc took me off of it. The only thing that worked back then to keep my acne at bay was oral contraceptives (birth control pills). These did cause me to gain weight though. I doubt they would give it to guys though for obvious reasons.
