Asthma Or Something Else?? Posted: 08-08-05 22:22pm
When I was bulking tobacco last fall, I
came down with a sinus infection. Now I
do have a history of asthma but have not
had an attack or symptoms since I was a
toddler( I am 16 now). Fumes and gases
dont bother me niether. After my sinus
infection I have exercised through the
winter(running strictly) and worked
through the indiana's heat visories and
smog alerts. Through all this I have had
no weazing or chestpain. But I have had
a symptom that is difficult to describe.
I can breathe fine but the air I am
breathing doesn't satisfy my lungs for a
while. Also my nose cannot breathe in as
much air as it should it always feels
semi-clogged up ever since I balked
tobacco. The doctor prescribed me an
advair discuss, I used it religiously and
even tried an albuterol inhaler but it
still did not help. One thing I realized
is when my adrenaline is pumping and I am
not paying attention to it I function
perfeclty. Might this be because I am
thinking about it? I dont know but I
have a cough (that only comes out when I
purposely cough) and I get small stomach
cramps now and then out in the heat. I
have also been having routine breathing
tests and my lungs are functioning
beautifully 90-100%. It is not that
serious but I would like to know what to
do to help it because I have high hopes of
serving in the army and really hate to be
disqualified or something. If anyone is
experiencing something similar please let
me know.

Is there a common factor around when you
feel these symptoms?
If balking tobacco means smoking tobacco
then it could be what's causing the
symptoms.
