About a month ago, I had sex with my ex
boyfriend. I am the only person he's
ever had sex with, and i've been with one
other person since our breakup. A week
or two after, he started getting symptoms,
went to a doctor, and just by looking and
the amount of time since we had sex the
doctor said it seemed clear he either had
chlamydia or gonorrhea. He was given a
test for gonorrhea and put on antibiotics
right away. I figured I had to have one
of these stds, and got tested for both.
A week later my ex's symptoms are all
cleared up. The confusing part is that
my test results came back all negative.
I'm very sure he has not had sex with
anyone else, I completely trust him.
What else could it have been?

First of all I would get tested again in
about 2 weeks, again in a month or 2.
Some things take 2 to 6 weeks to show
up--
secondly I would see if it could be
possible to be a carrier of either of
those stds, I dont know but you could be a
carrier and not ever get them!!
I dont know if that could even be
possible. Just a guess.
Third I would see if the other guy is
having any kind of symptoms or if he has
ever had either of those stds.
Good luck

First thanks for the quick response. The
other guy says he's never had any
symptoms. It hasn't been a matter of 2
or 6 weeks since I had sex with the other
guy, it's been about 4 months. My ex was
only tested for gonorrhea, and that came
back negative. I was tested for both,
and both came back negative. I was told
these tests are rarely wrong. I'm
wondering if his symptoms could have been
anything else.

Pink pearl penile papules--i dont know how
you say it. My son went in with what
looked like maybe small venerial warts or
hpv. It had been 6 months since last
encounter. They said that is prolly when
he got what ever they thought he had.
They tried to burn them off, he almost
passed out from the pain. He goes back
after new girlfriend 1 year later. They
all came back more of them than before.
They said your fine. These are pink
pearl penile papules, you get them at
puberty, they dont go away , not
contagious, they are normal for you.
My point is I dont know if I trust their
diagnosis, and they said he could have had
this std??? For 6 months, or could have
taken 6 months to show symptoms. I always
thought they showed with 2 weeks most of
the ones i've studied up on. Except hiv
of course.
What kind of symptoms did he have--if you
dont mind my question?
Its all better now?
Maybe it was just yeast infection or
something?
What kind of meds did he get--do you know?

The symptoms were ones of chlamydia or
gonorrhea...I think he had some
irritation, swelling, and discharge stuff.
I don't know the medication they gave
him, but it was antibiotics that are used
to treat either of those diseases. And
yeah, he's all better now. I'm thinking
maybe it was just a yeast infection. I
would have tested positive by now if I had
something, it's been 4 months.
