Q: Should I Stop Taking Birth Control?

About a month ago, my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. Now my period is a week late. I took a home pregnancy test and it was negative, but I am still wondering if I may be pregnant. I have read about birth control causing birth defects and miscarriages, so I was wondering if I should stop taking it until I can be tested at the doctor's office...If anyone has anything...Let me know...Please!!!

I forgot to mention that my boyfriend and I have since broken up, so I won't be having sex and there's no chance of me getting pregnant (if i'm not already).

You should go see a doctor and ask if you could get a blood test done. Some women don't show the pregnancy hormone (hcg) in urine. The birth control pill won't hurt the baby. You'd be safe to stay on it until you know for sure if your pg or not.

I read on dr site the same thing, that the doses in b/c pills will not harm the baby. Go to the dr oon though see what he has to say about it.
