I have had few nightmares. The fact that it was only a nightmare and not something that really happened to me, makes me feel better.

All the time. I grew up in a haunted house, hardly slept at night with all the ghostly phenomena around. Recently, I have started having nightmares about the house and childhood memories about the house.

I'm a recovering alcoholic who keeps falling off the wagon. I get real bad nightmares. Especially the times I have tried to quit drinking cold turkey. I will have them every time I sleep. There is a pretty cool site on the net where you can go to analyze your dreams. I don't know what to believe about all of it but it's interesting at best. Dreams are just your subconscious mind, usually I find that stress and anxiety will cause me to have nightmare. For instance, when I stopped drinking the very first time, I would have nightmares that I would drink, and I would wake up in terror just from that and have to take a xanax. I hate having nightmares, sometimes I try to not sleep so I won't have them. But I haven't really come across anything to help with them. :-\
