My acne isnt that bad, but it still bothers me from time to time. I was wondering if anyone has used that proactiv solution stuff for acne, the one on the commercials? I am thinking about ordering some but I wanted to know if it actually works or not?!?

It has worked very well for me. Some people say it totally clears their acne up, it doesn't do that for me... But my skin was much worse without it. But I have to use it everyday or my skin gets mad at me again and breaks up.

It's good because it doesn't dry your skin up either. I would give it a try.

Everyone is different. Alot of people like it, alot of people dont. It has benzoyl peroxide 2.5% which is good so it wont irritate your skin. Remember 2.5 is just as effective as 10% without the irritation. Sounds crazy but its the truth. So that is good however alot of people said it worked for them at firs thten stopped working which is wierd because it is b.P and b.P never loses its effectivness. People say this is the first b.P product they used where it stopped working. However for me it never stopped working. I had great results the entire time I used it. The smell just go to gross for me. Also it says you are suppose to use just a tiny bit. When using benzoyl peroxide the more you use the better. Thats just how it is. The first week start with half a finger. Then slowly ramp the dosage till you hit a full finger, and if you have savere acne then a full finger and then some. Also it is key key key to moisturize!! Remember that. If you dont moisturizer your skin will get super dry and will make the acne worse. So try it out and see if it works. Use a good moisturizer. Eucerin skin renewal is excellent. It has lactic acid in it that exfoliates the little falkes on your skin. Good luck and tell us your progress.

I was wondering the same thing because I ordered it. I find that it hasnt really cleared up my acne, but it prevents any new pimples a lot better than other things ive tried. It also makes my skin reallly soft, and it doesnt dry out my skin at all, which was a big problem for me before. I would have white flakes coming off my face that I could never get rid of.

About 3 weeks now. It worked really well in the beginning, but I started birthcontrol pills again and I think thats what made my acne come back.

I used to use proactive when I was 14. I't didn't work at all for me and I had really bad acne. I used it for like 2 or 3 months and I had little results. But then when I turned 16 my acne went away and I didn't do anything to it just wash it with soap everyday and night. And i't just went away completely. I breakout some point in time but not very much. But yea pro active didn't work at all for me.

Skin Stuff
Gday all,

i am a bloke from aust and seriously find all this skin stuff a "girly" thing to do. I am the type of bloke that has 1 or 2 pimples a month on my face it is rare, and thats because I know what triggers my acne certain foods do this to me. So I simply stay away from the foods that cause pimples, and to me this is very effective, I have never put any crap on my face except for soap and water. But that being said there are many theories on treating acne, many of which may or may not work for you. But you know you body you know what happens, so I suggest experiment with your diet, with me I can't eat any thing with high oil levels or spicy foods, because it causes acne.

But seemingly as an analysis it just comes naturally to me to analysis the whole picture and provide the best possable solution.

If you are a guy I seriously would go all "girly" yet unless you feel that you are so hideous that no girl will go out with you.

And if you are a girl well you problaly know my answer for the reason that I called the proactive product a "girly" product.

It's in my opinion the best thing out there. I have been using it for almost 2 years now then like a fool decided I didnt need it anymore since I hadnt had any problems with my skin in so long, anyways I stopped using it and instantly in 3 days noticed a difference in the texture and overall appearance of my skin, now I will never go without it. :d

hey guys I'm a new member and was just wondering what 2 do about my awful acne....i got it after my sophomore year and its been pretty consistent for about 2 1/2 years. At first it was just my back, but then i got some on my chest, and then eventually it got my face too. I went to the dermatoligist and they prescribed some medicine that worked for a while but it all came back and now its worse, my face isn't that bad except for my chin but my chest has gotten really bad and so has my back. do you guys recommend proactiv?? because my doc also told me to go on birth control but I'm only 17 and i definitely don't want to go on the pill this early in case it might do some long term effects. please send me some advice.

proactiv
ive heard proactiv works well for people with red, irritated, severe acne. i, on the other hand, have a minor case of the whitheads/blackheads, nothing too big. so if you're more like me, i would say its not worth the money. it will get rid of those big, occasional blemishes, but it doesnt work for the overall problem. thats just me, though. the trial kit isnt expensive, so if you really want to do it, i would say give it a shot. :]]

I also love that eucerin lotion! It workls great with proactive! It might dry your face out for a few weeks but just use a moisturizer after the repairing lotion. I hope it works for you too!

It's no better than any other acne treatment / face wash you can buy at your drug store. It's a waste of money. They just have a really good marketing campaign to make them sound like the best out there. It cleans your face. It doesn't get rid of acne in my experience or anyone else I know.

ok this is how it works.
I was using it and then i stop then i started using it again. When i stoped using it, my acne went back to my face, specially my cheeks. So, the FORMULA is don't stop using it until your skin is really healthy, why?, well because acne and pimples comes from oil in your skin and bacteria combined, if you use proactive and still have acne and pimple, i guess your face is not clean that well for you to stop using it. But i stopped using it for now because proactive really tires me, im the kind of person who puts a whole bunch of lotion on the face because i think as much as you put on the faster it takes, because i wanted like by the week i wouldn't have nothing. I didnt have nothing and then i stop. BAD mistake, my face wasn't cleared enought from bacteria. But soon i will get Proactiv again

Hope this will help you Shorty. Have a nice day
