I am alittle concerned that I have diabetes. I use the bathroom all the time. I am so tired and weak and I drink water all the time. If I miss a meal. I feel so weak and feel like I am going to throw up. I went to the doctor and he said I had alot of glucose in my urine and thought maybe I have diabetes. I am waiting for the test results. I am praying that is comes back negative. Can you have healthy babies if you have diabetes. I want to have children so bad. Sad Sad

I don't know if you have diabetes or not. I have been wondering the same thing about myself. But I wish you the very best!

Hi hon I just registered on this site so I am a few days late with this reply.You very well could have diabetes, wait til your tests come back. Yes you can have babies, but if you are diagnosed with diabetes you have to start on the road to taking excellent care of yourself, with diet, excercise and medication if necessary. I post on a few other diabetes boards and there a quite a few young mothers with diabetes. I want to repeat that the most important thing for you to do is take very good care of yourself, work with an endo if possible, they specialze in diabetes care. When you are stabilized and know about diabetes then look to your future and I hope it is a good one. Sharon

hello sharon, I am new here also. I agree with everything you said. Also if you are a diabetic and plan on having children discuss it with you'r doctor before starting to try! I had an excellant doctor who shared this with me every visit. I am happy that she did as you can see it is something that I remember. I think it was folic acid that she said all women (not only diabetic womens) should ask their doctor about it before they get pregenet if at all possiable. Best of luck, kelly

Waiting Diabetes Test Results.
Hi out there I just registered, and I was tested for diabetes a few days ago. My results should be in very soon.I am a 15 year old girl and am very involved in alot of things. I am trying to gain support from people around me but they all think I am lying, even though the doctor tested me. They think I am faking the symptoms. If the test comes out positive i'm afraid they wont take it for real , and I could end up with a serious problem. What should I do? Crying or Very sad

turtletori:

hi my name is precius. I just wanted to tell you that if your active and not too overweight. Then just maybe you might not have diabetes. But it seems to me that a lot of people including myself are being diag with diabetes. I belive it's the things we eat and don't exercise enough that make us get this disease. It's a wake up call to just take better care of ourselves. I guess. I hope your not diabetic but if you are don't worry you can get rid of it, through proper care.

P.S. Your not alone don't worry be happy their are worser diseases that can't be cured!

Re: Waiting Diabetes Test Results.
Hi turtletori. I'm a 16 year old girl, and I was just tested yesterday for diabetes. I have the symptoms of dm, and I know how you feel. A lot of people don't seem to take anything with me seriously, and when they do, they minimize the importance of it. About faking- just ignore them, and try to care for yourself. And when the results come back, if they come back positive, see if your family/other people around you will be serious about everything. If not, I would suggest talking to your doctor, and/or a psychologist. It may very well be (if you are diagnosed, and even before then) that your family/other people in your life may be in denial that you possibly have a life-threatening disease. Good luck with everything... Smile

Diabetes
Hello, I wanted to tell you that anyone who is your real friend and loves you will only want to help you get better and be concerned for you. These people who think you are lying, are they kids your age? They can't understand the emotional impact this disease has on your mind, and the effects it has on your body, by controling your life. It can take quite some time to stop being depressed about being diagnosed, but things will get better the longer you have your sugar under control, the better you will feel, and we be able to be active again.;
