I do not mind sharing my experiences. I have used birth control since I was 17, but due to medical reasons I cannot use hormonal birth control. My family has a history of depressive illness, and I take zoloft, and when I am on the pill I have to raise my dosage in order to combat the mood side effects I have. I dealt with those side effects for 3 and a half years, and finally when I was 20 went off of birth control(hormonal). While I was on birth control I became pregnant 2 times, so I definately did not trust it. I use fertility awareness, where I watch my cycle and know when I ovulate. I also use the "sponge" on my unsafe days. I have done this for 3 years and became pregnant 1 more time,so I trust it. In all yes, I have had 3 abortions. They were not painful, as I had the iv sedation so I was pretty much out. I also have no regrets. I could not be where I am today if I had given birth, or stayed pregnant. I also do not want children, as I have so much happiness in life without them. It's all a personal choice. I still use the sponge to this day. I do not believe abortion should be forced or coerced, and I feel the same way about pregnancy. I believe that my right to life, and my right to bodily autonomy outweigh a fetus' right to my body.
