Hey, I started taking 150 mg of effexor
about 1 month ago, I think it is helping
but I still get anxiety symptoms some days
and feeling like an attack might come on.
I have klonopin for bad days but am trying
not to take any of those. I, in general,
am having a much better time than before
the effexor. First, tried paxil and that
made me feel crazy.
I am wondering if the full effect hasn't
hit me just yet? Anyone else taking
effexor or have anything to say about it.
Thanks..

I'm new here and this is my first time
posting. I did take effexor for a short
period of time. About three months. I
don't remember much of those three months,
i'm still trying to get through all the
side effects. Just kidding. It worked
really well for me. It gave me a feeling
of contentment after about a month of
taking it. My panic attacks subsided
greatly and after a couple more months I
felt well enough to stop taking it. Only
thing is that I just stopped taking it and
that wasn't a good feeling. It was kind
of like vertigo. I felt a little
unbalanced for about a week.
Hey, thanks for the reply. I am also new
to this forum. How is your anxiety now
after quitting the effexor? I am just
starting my second month today of the
effexor. I still get a little anxiety but
definately not as much as before. I am
thinking maybe I still haven't gotten to
the full benefit of the med. I find that
if I am busy and not thinking I am fine
but the minute I get time to think I start
thinking too much.
Again, thanks for your reply.

Anxious, thanks for inquiring about my
anxiety. I'm doing alot better now. It
helps to know that i'm not the only one
going through it and that I can talk about
it openly. I've recently come to the
conclusion through therapy, research, and
a little experimentation that alot of my
anxiety comes from a lack of endorphins.
I'm a very athletic person, and every time
I had to quit an activity for school,
work. Etc.. I would get this feeling of
depression from lack of endorphins.
People even get addicted to natural
chemicals. So the more active I am the
better. I was recently participating in
amateur boxing and had to stop for a while
because of school, but i'm telling you,
nothing relieves stress like giving or
taking a good pounding, with good
sportsmanship of course.

I think I heard that effexor can make your
blood sugar high if you have diabetes.
But other than that I think its a good
nerve pill.
