My brother in-law's dad started having severe seizures last tuesday, they admited him to the hospital and have done all the tests including a spinal tap, eeg and a mri and they have found nothing. He is hallucinating and no one seems to know what is wrong with him. We are completley distraught and need help! The seizures are not relenting at all even though they have him at the highest does of anti seizure medication and other medications including dilantin and phenobarbital. He was also on effexer for a year and so far I have not heard good things about that drug. Are there any specialty clinics you know of that we might be able to contact or any ideas that we can suggest to the Dr.? They are saying they "think" it's epilepsy but he has never had anything even slightly related to epilepsy in the past. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated!
