I think we need to teach children manners. How to treat people and respect them. Then on top of that just to love them. Provide as best that we can for them and to be there for them. If it fails in the teenage yrs I still think that eventually they will come back to the light and remember all those things they were taught as young kids.

my son is 13 and his friend help him create a myspace page. i read what was on it and it had cuss words. he told me his friend put it on there. so i talked to him about a person's (his friends) character. a month later i read it again and he didnt delete the bad words, so i delete the whole myspace page and told him not to go on it.
i tell him bible stories that relate to his situation. how he is responsible for his action. it's hard raising a male child being a single mother.
